Dear SPG Members,

I feel greatly privileged to have the opportunity to serve Society of Petroleum Geophysicists, India as its President and I take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to all the SPG members’ for reposing their confidence me and giving the responsibility of leading the esteemed society for consecutive three terms.

Society of Petroleum Geophysicists, India has played an increasingly key role to promote excellence and technological advancement in the profession of Geophysical Exploration for petroleum deposits. SPG, India is also largely contributing to the cause of continuing education and technical advancement of young geophysical professionals.

It is heartening to note that our local Chapters of promoting We also have received many requests to start  geosciences among young geoscientists & students We also have received many requests to start new SPG chapters and these are being considered In a short span, our Society has grown in an encouraging manner. We have now over 1200 members In order to make the society more vibrant more active members should be included in our fraternity. It is requested that more members enrolled and get their valuable suggestion for improvement.

On behalf of SPG, India, I invite you to join SPG forthcoming conference" Hyderabad 2010”  with the theme “Geophysical Challenges in Matured to Frontier Basins-  Geophysical Solutions” going to held from 1-3 Feb, 2010 at HICC, Hyderabad. It is a major event in the calendar of Indian energy Industry that showcases cutting-edge technologies for E&P sector and focuses on current challenges & opportunities for exploration & exploitation of both conventional and non-conventional energy sources We are ready to put a good show during Hyderabad 2010 with several unique and exciting activities on the card. I am very much looking forward for your active participation in the above event and solicit your support and new ideas
