Abstract

Bombay Offshore is one of the most prolific petroliferous basin of India located on the continental shelf of Western India. Carbonate sequence of Middle Eocene-Early Oligocene age hosts a number of hydrocarbon accumulations in structural plays. Middle Eocene-Early Oligocene carbonate margin extends over 120 kms in an NNE-SSW trend in East Daman Shelf. Thickness of carbonates ranges from a few tens of meters to more than 400m. Broadly, four types of depositional facies are identified
