Abstract

Most of the mature major oilfields worldwide are characterized by declining production with concomitant increased water cut. A need is thus felt for any reservoir midway through its lifetime, to look beyond conventional well drilling and completion techniques for exploiting the bypassed and left-over mobile oil for maximizing recovery, techno-economics being the single most important parameter to optimize the investment size.
