Abstract

A few successes in Neduvasal-Vadatheru area have proved the hydrocarbon potential of syn-rift sediments in Tanjore subbasin, Cauvery Basin but still a large area of the sub-basin necessitates exploration attention for syn-rift sediments. An attempt has been made to bring out a regional understanding of syn-rift architecture, depositional pattern by integrating available geo-scientific data and to analyze hydrocarbon prospectivity of syn-rift sediments in Tanjore sub-basin.
