Abstract

In general, seismic waves propagating through the earth surface suffers absorption, scattering and transmission losses of varying degrees. As a results frequency dependent loss of amplitude occurs. Due to this interpretation of seismic data and AVO/AVA studies in gas zone affected area becomes difficult. For relative amplitude preservation, it is essential to correct for these affects prior to migration.
