Role of seismic has significantly changed over the last two decades starting from seismic imaging to reservoir characterization, in which seismic amplitude has become prominent to decipher subtle patterns of stratigraphy and reservoir properties. In Exploration and Development, Seismic Inversion has evolved as a potential tool in quantitative estimation of elastic properties in the subsurface and bestowed upon a vital success in seismic reservoir characterization. With recent developments in acquisition technologies like Broadband Wideazimuth High-density (BWH) seismic and Ocean Bottom Nodes (OBN), seismic data has now become enriched in inherent low frequency, wide-azimuth and ultra-long offset information. Such paradigm shift in seismic acquisition has led geoscientists to perform anisotropic seismic inversion rather than conventional isotropic prestack inversion, and endeavor to harness the embedded capabilities of seismic anisotropy in terms of reservoir characterization, Earth-stress magnitude and its direction. In current work a novel and integrated workflow has been attempted for quantitative estimation of anisotropic parameters related to stress and fracture detection using isotropic modelling and model based simultaneous inversion in anisotropic media under certain assumptions
